There are also several government jobs available in the High Desert like the City of Victorville, Town of Apple Valley, City of Hesperia and the City of Adelanto. There are also several School District in the area that usually are hiring. In my experience, I have seen more job openings in the City of Victorville than any other city. One of the main reasons why I moved to the High Desert was housing affordability and what you get for your money was just amazing to me. In 2018 I purchased my 2 story, 2,400 sqft home in the City of Victorville for $300,000. Housing affordability is what brought me here and I genuinely fell in love with the High Desert lifestyle. Since then, average home prices is currently at $417,000 according to Redfin.
